2015 Scott Spark 900 RC Bike

Product Description

General Information

When World Cup courses demand a bit of suspension, both Nino Schurter and Geoff Kabush reach for their Scott Spark 700/900RC bikes. Nino is famous for being an early adopter of the 27.5” wheelsize, and Kabush has long been a 29” devotee thanks in part to his height. Both enjoy the uncompromising, and balanced suspension performance of their Spark bikes, and both have proven the platform to be more than just “good enough”, having won numerous races aboard their preferred bikes.

The 700RC is built around the 27.5” wheelsize with 120mm of front and rear travel, while the 900RC is built around 29” wheels and 100mm of travel. Both bikes use the proprietary Fox Nude CTCD rear shock and Fox Float Factory CTD Air fork with Kashima coating, mated to Scott’s exclusive TwinLoc remote. The TwinLoc allows you to simultaneously adjust both front and rear suspension, but also adjust the bottom bracket height by 6mm and the head angle by .5 degree. This means you can adjust the entire feel of the bike, on the fly, without ever taking your hand off the bar. Furthermore, by flipping the chip in the rear shock linkage, you can further adjust the suspension feel. Never has it been so easy to have one bike meet the demands of nearly any trail condition you encounter.

Scott has long been a pioneer in carbon technology, and their IMP (Integrated Molding Process) technology takes that expertise even further. The HMX main frame and swingarm, along with shock and hardware, create a frame that weighs a feathery 1900gm for a size medium. Scott’s internal molding process keeps weight low and stiffness high, furhter increasing pedaling efficiency. Combined with the BB92 bottom bracket and oversized, tapered headset (1 1/8” x 1 1/2”), the 700/900RC is all about turning every watt you produce into forward momentum.

The SRAM X01 shifter and XX1 1x11 drivetrain are ruthlessly efficient, as well as incredibly light. A 32-tooth chain ring and 10-42 cassette provide you with ample gearing for climbing or descending, while eliminating the potential headaches of a front derailleur dropping your chain while racing or cruising an epic remote trail. One less worry when you’re focusing on the trail ahead, is always a good thing. Shimano XTR brakes with 180mm front and 160mm rear Icetech rotors provide all the stopping power or “speed modulation” you could ever dream of. Long the standard by which all other brakes are compared, XTR virtually garauntees perfect performance every time you grab the lever.

As a SCOTT Odlo and 3Rox team replica bike, the 700/900RC comes equipped with Ritchey Pro headset, WCS 2X carbon handlebar, WCS C-260 stem, WCS Link carbon seatpost, and WCS  Streem EVO carbon saddle. The Syncros XR RC wheelset uses tubeless ready alloy rims, DT Swiss made hubs, laced up with DT Swiss Aero Comp spokes, and Schwalbe Rocket Ron EVO tubeless easy tires to keep you railing all day without a hint of worry. Durable, light, and ready to make you fly.

As the saying goes, “if it’s good enough for the World Cup, it’s good enough for you.” The Scott Spark 700/900RC is good enough for Nino and Geoff, and probably good enough for you too.
